TACLOBAN CITY – Northern Samar’s provincial government has directed local government units and residents to be on alert as heavy rains in the province could trigger flooding and landslides.
dunia303 slotA red rainfall warning was issued for Northern Samar on Friday morning. This means torrential rain is expected, which could cause flooding, landslides and other dangers.
“All are advised to monitor updates. Please cooperate if advised to evacuate. Your safety should be prioritized,” the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) said in an advisory.
Article continues after this advertisementThe PDRRMO said communities near the Catarman, Bugko, Pambujan, Catubig, Palapag, Mano, and Gamay Rivers and their tributaries should monitor the rise in water levels.

Work in government offices has also been ordered suspended by the respective mayors of Catarman, Mondragon, Laoang, Lope de Vega, Pambujan, and San Jose.
