Who is Amir Jangoo?Amir Anthony Jangoo is a wicket-keeper batter who bats left-handed. Born in Trinidad on July 14, 1997, Jangoo made his international debut on December 12 at Warner Park in St Kitts in the third ODI between Bangladesh and West Indies. The left-hander stole the limelight on his debut with a stunning 83-ball 104 not out to guide West Indies to victory from a tricky situation.

His T20 numbers are not that impressive. Jangoo first got a chance in the Caribbean Premier League in 2020 for Trinidad and Tobago Knight Riders but did not get much time on the pitch. In 2022 and 2023, he played a total of 11 games for Jamaica Tallawahs but could not cash in on the opportunities. His highest score in the CPL is just 30 and the strike rate of 80 in 12 innings also does not paint a pretty picture.
Howevertadhana slots, on his ODI debut, Jangoo showed he could play the waiting as well as the attacking game. His 80-ball ton on debut became the fastest ever ODI century by a debutant. This also became the first instance of a batter batting at number six scored a century on ODI debut.
